Custom T-Shirt Printing - Creative Design and Print

Custom T-Shirt Printing

Custom screen printed t-shirts for businesses, events, teams and anyone who wants their own design on quality gear.

You've got a design, a logo, or at least an idea. Custom t-shirt printing is how you turn that into actual wearable gear that looks sharp and survives the washing machine. At our Henderson print shop, we do custom t-shirt printing for Auckland businesses, clubs, event organisers, and anyone else who wants their own design done properly. Check out our screen printing services to see the full range of apparel we produce.

What is Custom T-Shirt Printing?

A blank tee is just fabric. Put your logo, your event design, or your team crest on it and suddenly it's a branding tool, a keepsake, or a uniform. Whether you're launching a business, running a charity fun run, or kitting out your Saturday football team, custom t-shirt printing gives you something that looks unified and actually lasts.

We handle the whole thing: design consultation if you need it, artwork preparation for screen production, garment selection guidance (because the blank matters more than people realise), sample approval on bigger runs, screen printing production, and quality checks before anything ships. For something with a bit more texture, ask about our bespoke embroidery finishes as well.

Businesses, sports clubs, schools and community groups across Auckland keep coming back because the tees we print still look good after years of wearing and washing. That's what screen printing does when it's done right.

When You Need Us

When You Need Custom T-Shirt Printing

1

Launching a New Business

First week of your new company. Branded tees for the team make you look established before you've even finished the website.

2

Promotional Marketing Campaign

Product launch next month? Giveaway tees at an activation? Custom printed shirts are one of the most effective promo tools going.

3

Staff Workwear

Your employees represent your brand every day. Matching printed tees keep the team looking consistent without overthinking it.

4

Retail Merchandise

Selling your own branded tees, whether you're a band, a cafe, or a streetwear label. We print the stock, you sell it.

5

Charity Events

Fun runs, walkathons, community fundraisers. Participants all wearing the same shirt creates real energy on the day.

6

School Events

Sports day, camp week, Year 13 graduation. The shirts end up in drawers for years. Might as well make them good ones.

7

Celebrations and Reunions

Hen's nights, stag dos, milestone birthdays, family reunions. Matching shirts make the photos better and the group tighter.

8

Trade Shows and Expos

Your team needs to be identifiable in a crowded exhibition hall. Branded tees do that job without the formality of a full uniform.

9

Sports Teams and Clubs

Football club, touch rugby team, running group. Custom tees give you a team identity that's easy to keep consistent as members change.

10

Commemorative Merchandise

Won the tournament? Hit a club milestone? A custom printed tee is the kind of thing people actually keep.

Our Process

Our Custom T-Shirt Printing Process

01

Design Consultation

We start with a conversation. What's the design? What's it for? How many do you need? If you've got artwork ready, great. If you've got a napkin sketch and an idea, that works too.

02

Artwork Preparation

Your design gets prepped for screen printing. That means colour separations, sizing, and digital proofs so you can see exactly what you're getting before anything hits fabric.

03

Garment Selection

The blank tee matters more than most people think. Cotton for a soft feel, polycotton for durability, performance blends for sport. We'll help you pick the right one for your purpose.

04

Sample Approval

On bigger orders, we run a sample first. You see the actual print on the actual garment. It's the surest way to avoid any surprises when the full batch arrives.

05

Screen Printing Production

Ink gets pushed through mesh screens directly onto the fabric. It bonds with the fibres, which is why screen printed tees hold their colour and don't crack like cheap transfers.

06

Quality Control

Every shirt gets checked. Print quality, colour accuracy, placement, garment condition. If it doesn't meet the standard, it doesn't go in your box.

07

Collection or Delivery

Pick up from our Henderson workshop or we'll deliver across Auckland. Your call.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Creative Design and Print for Custom T-Shirt Printing?

Concept to Finished Garment

Got a rough sketch? A logo file? A half-formed idea? We take it from there through artwork prep, proofing, and production. You focus on your event or business.

Fabric and Blank Selection Guidance

Retail merch needs a premium hand-feel. Event giveaways need comfort. We match the blank to the purpose, whether that's cotton, polycotton, or performance fabric.

Wash-After-Wash Vibrancy

Screen printed ink bonds with the fabric fibres when properly cured. The result? Colours and sharpness that hold up through years of regular washing. Not months. Years.

Small Batch to Large Run Flexibility

20 shirts for a family reunion or 500 for a product launch. The quality stays the same regardless of order size. We've got production relationships that flex.

Artwork Adaptation for Print

Your digital design might look great on screen but need adjustments for print. We handle colour separation and optimisation so the finished tee matches what you had in mind.

Sample Approval Before Commitment

For bigger orders, you get a physical sample to hold, wear, and judge before we print the rest. Colour, placement, fabric feel. All confirmed before the full run starts.

Custom T-Shirt Printing Pricing

Custom t-shirt printing depends on a few things: how many you need, what blank you choose, how many colours in your design, and where on the garment you want the print. More volume means lower per-unit cost because the screen setup is a one-time thing.

Quantity Pricing

Screen setup is a fixed cost. Print 20 shirts and it sits on each one. Print 200 and it barely registers. Bigger orders always work out better per unit.

Colour Considerations

Every colour in your design needs its own screen. A one-colour logo is straightforward. A four-colour design takes more setup. Simple designs give you the best value.

Garment Selection

The blank tee you choose affects the final number. Premium brands cost more than basics, but the print results and comfort are noticeably better.

Frequently Asked Questions - Custom T-Shirt Printing

100% cotton gives you the most vibrant, long-lasting prints. The ink absorbs into the fibres really well. Cotton-poly blends are solid too and add durability, though the print finish feels slightly different. If you need moisture-wicking for sport, we can suggest performance fabrics that still take ink well.
Best case: send us a vector file (AI, EPS, or PDF). It scales without losing quality and separates cleanly for screens. Got a JPG or PNG? That works if it's at least 300 DPI at print size. Bold, solid-colour designs translate to screen printing the best. And if your file needs work, we can sort that out.
Screen printing is most economical at 20 pieces or more because there's a fixed setup involved. We can sometimes do less through our production partners. Under 10? Heat transfer might actually be a better fit. We'll be honest about what makes sense for your quantity.
Plastisol is the workhorse. Properly cured, it handles hundreds of washes without cracking. Water-based inks give you a softer feel and work beautifully on lighter garments. Then there's discharge printing, which strips the garment dye and replaces it with colour, so the print literally becomes part of the fabric.
You can, but it's a different process. Polyester needs lower curing temperatures (too hot and you scorch it) and special inks to prevent dye migration, which is when the garment colour bleeds through into the print. We work with production partners who handle poly regularly.
Flip them inside out before washing. Cold or warm water, no fabric softener. Tumble dry on low or hang them up. Don't iron directly on the print. That's genuinely all there is to it.
Yes. Give us your Pantone codes or a physical colour sample and we match it. This matters more than people realise, especially if you're putting the same colour on apparel, signage, and business cards. Consistency builds trust.
