Hi-Vis Printing - Creative Design and Print

Hi-Vis Printing

Branded hi-vis printing that keeps your team compliant and identifiable on site.

Your crew needs hi-vis on site. That's non-negotiable. But plain hi-vis makes your team anonymous. Hi-vis printing puts your company logo on safety-compliant garments so your workers are identifiable and your brand is visible on every job. At our Auckland hi-vis printing workshop, we print custom hi-vis for trades, construction, logistics and infrastructure businesses across Auckland. It's part of our screen printed workwear range, built specifically for tough job site conditions.

What is Hi-Vis Printing?

Here's the thing about hi-vis printing: you can't just slap a logo anywhere. Reflective tape zones are off limits. Fluorescent background area has to meet minimum coverage. Get it wrong and the garment is no longer compliant. We plan every print placement around AS/NZS requirements so your branding looks good without compromising the safety your team depends on. We also supply certified safety workwear if you need the garments too.

What a hi-vis printing job looks like with us:

  • Safety requirements assessment for your specific work environment
  • Compliant garment selection from certified suppliers
  • Print placement planning around reflective tape and fluorescent zones
  • Artwork preparation for fluorescent fabric (it behaves differently)
  • Controlled curing during printing production
  • Compliance verification on finished garments
  • Delivery to your office or direct to site

We know the NZ workplace safety rules for hi-vis clothing inside out.

Construction companies, trades contractors, logistics operators and infrastructure firms across Auckland trust us for hi-vis printing that stays compliant. Because a branded vest that fails a site inspection is worse than no branding at all.

Our Process

Our Hi-Vis Printing Process

01

Safety Requirements Assessment

First question: what class of hi-vis does your work environment require? AS/NZS 4602.1, day only or day/night? Different sites have different rules, and we need to get this right before anything else.

02

Compliant Garment Selection

We source certified hi-vis from safety wear suppliers we trust. Class D, Class D/N, vests, shirts, jackets. We match the garment to your safety obligations and practical needs.

03

Print Placement Planning

This is the critical step. Reflective tape zones are off limits. Fluorescent background area has minimum coverage requirements. We map out exactly where your logo goes so it's visible but fully compliant.

04

Artwork Preparation

Fluorescent fabric is different from standard textiles. Some colours pop, others disappear. We prep your logo specifically for hi-vis backgrounds so it reads clearly on that bright yellow or orange.

05

Printing Production

Screen printing on hi-vis uses controlled curing temperatures matched to the specific fabric. The ink bonds properly without affecting the fluorescent properties or the reflective tape adhesion.

06

Compliance Verification

Before anything ships, we verify the finished garments. Reflective tape intact? Fluorescent area coverage maintained? Print hasn't compromised the safety rating? Only then does it leave the workshop.

07

Delivery to Site or Office

We deliver to your office, your yard, or straight to the job site. Whatever works best for your crew.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Creative Design and Print for Hi-Vis Printing?

AS/NZS Compliance Preserved

We plan every print around the reflective tape and fluorescent background requirements of AS/NZS 4602.1. Your branded gear maintains its safety certification for both day and night use.

Fluorescent Fabric Print Expertise

Fluorescent yellow and orange fabrics behave differently under screen printing. We use ink formulations and curing temperatures specifically matched to these materials. It's not something you can wing.

Reflective Tape Protection

We don't print anywhere near the reflective tape. Period. Your workers' visibility in low-light and night conditions stays fully intact.

Site-Ready Durability

Concrete dust, rain, UV, industrial washing on repeat. Hi-vis takes serious punishment on construction and roading sites, and our prints are built to handle all of it.

Crew Identification Across Sites

On a busy multi-contractor site, everyone's wearing hi-vis. Your branded gear is what makes your team stand out from the other 15 companies on site.

Individual Name Personalisation

Need names on the hi-vis? Common for supervisor identification, compliance tracking, or allocating specific workers to specific vehicles. We print individual names alongside your company logo.

Compliant Garment Options

We source certified hi-vis at various levels, from basic Class D vests through to full Class D/N jackets. Different jobs need different gear.

Volume Pricing

Outfitting a full crew? Per-unit costs drop with bigger orders. Ongoing supply programmes get even better rates.

Compliance Included

Print placement planning and compliance verification are part of the job. We don't charge extra to make sure your hi-vis actually passes.

Frequently Asked Questions - Hi-Vis Printing

The safe zones are the upper left or right chest, upper back panel, and sleeves below the reflective tape. You can't cover reflective tape, block more than 50% of fluorescent material on any panel, or interfere with closures. We work all this out during placement planning so you don't have to worry about it.
Short answer: we don't print on reflective tape. Doing so compromises its reflective properties and that's a safety issue. All branding goes on the fluorescent fabric portions of the garment. Your logo still looks great, and the reflective tape does its job properly.
It comes down to where you put the logo and how big you make it. We position branding in compliant zones, keep it clear of tape, and make sure the minimum fluorescent area is maintained. Done properly, you get visible branding and a garment that still meets certification.
The main one is AS/NZS 4602.1, which covers fluorescent background material and retroreflective tape requirements. Which class you need depends on your risk assessment and work environment. Not sure what applies to your site? We can help you figure that out.
We print on all classes. Class D is daytime only (fluorescent fabric, no tape). Class D/N is day and night (fluorescent fabric plus reflective tape). The print approach differs slightly depending on the garment setup, but we handle both regularly.
Absolutely. Individual name printing is something we do a lot, especially for supervisor identification and compliance tracking. Just give us the names and where you want them positioned, and we'll work them in alongside the company logo.
